College life starts again
January 16 2009, 1:49 PM
College has started again and it seems so very overwhelming.
I am taking five classes totaling 14 credit hours this semester. The classes are mostly hands on type with lots of reports and field study at schools. I am taking Teaching Social Studies, Methods of Reading for Elementary Teachers, Methods of Elementary Health, Physics for Teachers with Lab, and also Community School and Family Connections.
It seems like I have a ton of books to carry and my shoulder really aches when I get home from class. I am glad that I have Lisa Gurley to ride with, but on Thursday night I go back for an evening class. Randy drove me this first night and I was very thankful.
I am looking forward when all these classes are over and I can finally get a job teaching.

models of teaching over at last
November 6 2008, 5:11 PM
Models of teaching is finally over and boy! Oh Boy! am I glad...
The class did teach several different styles of lesson plans and how to "hook" my students. I really thought the teacher, Tina Varma was great at explaining all the material to us.
I only have three more weeks of Music for Elem. Teachers and I have enjoyed the class also. I am looking forward to the Spring semester and I am hoping I continue to do well as a full time college student.

Celebration of Randy's 45th birthday
October 17 2008, 7:50 PM
The daughters of Randy Carroll decided to help him celebrate his 45th birthday by taking him to Lebabon. We ate at Cornerstore where they have the famous stromboli that we all ordered to eat. We also went shopping at the Lee Store.
Great fun for all of us.

College days and School days
September 5 2008, 4:37 AM
College life is tough and since I have Lisa Gurley riding with me it sure does help. Right now I am not taking a full class schedule of classes but if I ever want to graduate then I will have to take more in the future.
I have also been homebound teaching and working at Pathways. I also have been called to substitute teach, but both times had to turn it down as I was working at Pathways.
I have planned out my program of study for the future of my classes I need to take to get my degree to teach and my student teaching time in 2010. That is closer than I realized. I guess I can do all this. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am up to the task. (NOT)
Pray for me Friends!!

Zoo Trip
August 10 2008, 8:13 AM
On Saturday, August 9, I took two of my grandkids to the Springfield Zoo and Chucky Cheese Pizza Place. It was a awesome time. My parents, Liz and her friend Kelsey, and my other daughter Rachel went in the van. We enjoyed the animals and the nice cool air. It was surprising to us how cool the weather was for August.
Chunky Cheese was a mad house but the grandkids loved it. They had a lot of fun playing the games, but did not really enjoy the stage show.
After we ate, we went to Pet Land and Liz bought a parakeet and cage. Rachel bought a hamster for Macy and named it Ladybug/Gus Gus. They had fun playing with these animals on the long way home.
I learned later that the cats have already eaten the hamster by knocking over the cage and getting inside. Rachel is not very happy about this as she was at work when it happened. A new hamster will be bought soon as Macy is very upset.
Look for pictures of our Zoo trip on my blog photos page.
