On Saturday, August 9, I took two of my grandkids to the Springfield Zoo and Chucky Cheese Pizza Place.  It was a awesome time.  My parents, Liz and her friend Kelsey, and my other daughter Rachel went in the van.  We enjoyed the animals and the nice cool air.  It was surprising to us how cool the weather was for August.

Chunky Cheese was a mad house but the grandkids loved it.  They had a lot of fun playing the games, but did not really enjoy the stage show.

After we ate, we went to Pet Land and Liz bought a parakeet and cage. Rachel bought a hamster for Macy and named it Ladybug/Gus Gus.  They had fun playing with these animals on the long way home. 

I learned later that the cats have already eaten the hamster by knocking over the cage and getting inside.  Rachel is not very happy about this as she was at work when it happened.  A new hamster will be bought soon as Macy is very upset.

I have started a new job at Pathways Adult Care Unit in Clinton, MO.

I am enjoying helping people with substance abuse issues and learning new ways to teach groups.  The paperwork seems endless, but I am catching on pretty well.  I am training on all three shifts, but will mostly work on the 1st shift.

Hello again,

My 18 year old daughter and I went on a weekend road trip to Colorado.  We hiked up to Hanging Lake near Glenwood Springs, CO.

It was an awesome time for us and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  We loved every minute of it but were really tired driving home across Kansas.  We took some great pictures and are going to make a scrapbook together.

Praise the Lord,  Two of my college on line courses are finished.

I made a B in Educational Psychology and an A in Educational Computer Technology.  I am so relieved to have these classes behind me.

I currently still have two more weeks of Adolescent Psychology to finish but I have finished the four page paper that was due today.  I am working hard to get assignments finished in advance as with starting a new job on Monday the 21st of this month, I will be busier than ever.

Pray for me  Still!!!!!!

I will be starting a new job on Monday, July 21.  I was hired on Thursday to work at Pathways Behavioral Healthcare Center.  I will be working in the Adult Care Center as a Adult Substance Abuse Tech.

I am looking forward to the position as they will work with my college fall school schedule and my desire to substitute teach also during the day.  They have 3 shifts which are as follows:  8-4, 4-12, and also 12-8 a.m. shift.  I will be trained on all three shifts so I can relieve people who want vacations and sick time.

I will also be helping people with abuse situations.  My parents are worried that I will want to take some of the people home with me to help them out, but I am sure that I will have to try to stay unattached.

I would welcome all prayers to be lifted up for me as I take on this new position.
