mowing

June 20 2008, 10:18 AM

Mowing the yard with a push mower is tough, but good exercise.

I was able to mow Joel's yard at the house he bought.  I mowed next to a snake and decided that was enough.  If I had a riding mower, then it would have been a little safer.

I also mowed our yard with the push mower.  Found our two baby chicks that must have drowned from the storm and major flooding we had on Father's Day.  They were dead and I smelled them first.   They must have tried to huddle under the tractor.  So sad.

New House

June 19 2008, 1:30 PM

Joel just purchased a house with 10 acres.

He will be moving in this next month in July.

We are starting to paint the bedrooms for the boys to share.  We will be using the CARS movie theme for decor.

I feel this is a new start for Joel and his sons, Brent and Koel.

They are all really excited.

Brent is 4 years old and Koel is 18 months.

Tough classes

June 18 2008, 6:48 PM

My two college classes online are tough, but I am hanging in there.

I am also a nanny two nights a week and also babysit my granddaughter and grandson once a week or more.

I am having some struggles with the computer technology class, but not too much.

Glad that I will have these two classes behind me.  The Educational Psychology is even harder with 500 word or more discussion forums twice a week with reference and outside sources.

I have been getting 12/12 on the last two so I feel better about this class also.

hang tight.

All About Me

June 25 2008, 5:15 AM

Introduction
Hello, My name is Tammy Louise Carroll and I am the mother of three children, a son, age 25 and a daughter, age 23 and a college bound daughter, age 18. I have three beautiful grandchildren ranging from age 4 to 18 months. I have been married for 25 years to my husband and my high school sweetheart.

Personal Information
I am majoring in elementary education with areas of concentration in special education. I graduated from SFCC this May after attending off and on for 9 years. I have been working as a paraprofessional at Lakeland Schools for 6 years. After my last child graduated from high school and enrolled in college full time, I decided it was time to get back into college and get my teaching certificate. I am going full time now. My hobbies include bike riding, traveling to all the 50 states in my lifetime, walking, reading, spending time with my children and grandchildren, riding my horse and working with my animals. I am also very involved in my church/community with a pet ministry, children ministry and rest home visits.

We were asked to talk about what we think we are an expert in. My attitude about being an expert is limited but I feel I am an expert at working with children with special needs and relating to children in all situations. I am always willing to learn more about this subject though. I am also very good with working with animals and have trained and sold 4 colts to families who have been blessed by these horses in their lives.

We were asked to discuss our  weakness areas and mine is a  lack of knowledge of computers and how to upload graphics and pictures correctly. Another weakness is my dealing with sickness and pain. My husband, 9 years ago, was diagonised with a cancerous brain tumor and I have put a lot of my life on hold to help him deal with this sitution, so this may be a weakness and strength as I am the type to put off my own personal decisions for the care of others. I do get very upset when other people do not try to reach for their goals. I guess I need to learn to accept my own advice that I give out to others. So this is a weakness of my own.

My hometown for 40 years of my life was the Mt. Zion/Truman lake area surrounding Deepwater and Lowry City, but in 2005 our house that my husband and I had built in 1983 burned down and we moved to Clinton. We have three ducks, 5 chickens, two dogs and a beta fish. My one remaining horse is staying with my sister in law so I do not get to ride as often as I would like.
